Construction Management

Prior to the start of any project we meet with the homeowners to discuss their ideas and those of their architects/designers to fully assess our client’s lifestyle and renovation goals and needs. This initial meeting is where the most frequently asked construction questions are answered and solutions and options are presented. It also offers the client the opportunity to request any final revisions or modifications to their plans.

Our firm takes responsibility for the assembling and hiring of all of the trades and sub-contractors necessary to complete a project, managing them carefully in concert with the rest of the ‘team’ composed of the Owner, architect, and/or designer.

We provide highly detailed estimates to all of the ‘team’ members and communicate to the homeowner regularly on the progress of the project, expected construction schedules, and suggested changes as they arise.

Finally, we utilize industry-leading construction management software to leverage efficiencies in scheduling, communication, invoicing, and project tracking to streamline the client experience.

Preliminary Cost Appraisal

Working with architects and designers, McMillan Construction Group uses a proprietary detailed estimating tool that ensures a high level of accuracy in the early conceptual stages of the project to assist in controlling the cost expectations and viability of the project for all the relevant parties.

These detailed estimates in advance of final plans by the architect help to assure a project’s scope and vision meet the reality of actual construction costs. Our Preliminary Cost Appraisal provides you, the homeowner, with a measure of insurance that projects, once started, meet your budget expectations and limits.

Design - Build

McMillan Construction Group offers its clients the ability to perform design work for residential construction, or it can partner with design groups to assist in design. Although we are not architects, our design-build skills include space planning, construction drawings, and material selections where needed. We are able to work with our clients to select all of the components needed for the construction project to help reduce the stress of making selections and enhancing the project’s design details.

We can also manage, coordinate and bring together all of the necessary experts, from kitchen and bath, landscaping, lighting, audiovisual consultants, interior designers and architects.

Problem Solving

One significant skill in which we excel and which separates us from our competitors is the insight and experience we have in carefully integrating new construction into an older home with unique historic or period elements.

Our creative input can assist the homeowner with the selection of the right structure and materials to build from the plans produced by the architect. These are special capabilities not often associated with a construction company. Our “creative finishing skill” is a hands-on, time-intensive service that comes from careful listening and close communication with our clients.
