“With more than 35 years in custom home remodeling and building, I’m still passionate about my work. I started at the bottom as a laborer as part of the site clean-up crew, then moved on to become a carpenter, and then a foreman. That experience helped me learn how to estimate a job and fully understand the pricing process. I’ve had hands-on experience in virtually every aspect of building, from drywall, to electric, to plumbing, HVAC, cabinetry, etc.


The complex nature of our projects and a demanding clientele mean satisfying customers can be pretty demanding. That’s why good chemistry and good communication with our clients is so important. We work hard to ensure the homeowner is happy with both our process and the finished product. It’s how we have developed loyal, repeat customers and it has also provided a major source of referral business.”

“My fascination with design stems from a childhood love of fine art and architecture. A degree in fine art and various courses in architecture helped me in my first job in construction where I worked as a carpenter, foreman, draftsman and designer. 40 years later, I still retain that passion and love for great design and the process of construction that bring a sense of great personal satisfaction.


Although it is a completely separate company, McMillan Cabinetmakers is a uniquely focused avenue for me to exercise my design experience. We’ve been creating memorable custom cabinetry and casework for St. Louis homes for over 20 years.
